Biomedical/Caledonia Medical Laboratory Limited Biomedical/Caledonia Medical Laboratory Limited is the largest private medical laboratory in Jamaica with a network of fifty (50) collection centres island-wide, providing comprehensive laboratory services since 1968. The laboratory is accredited with Jamaica National Agency for Accreditation (JANAAC) having met the required International Standard of ISO 15189 that governs medical laboratories. The
Laboratory has successfully completed all Surveillance since its accreditation and boasts an energized and highly capable team of professionals.

We are looking for a seasoned executive/business leader to fill the Managing Director role to lead the organization into the next wave of pioneering change in our laboratory business. The role reports to the Board of Directors and leads a team of high-performing professionals who are committed to the high standards needed to meet our compliance and accreditation standards. The scope includes responsibility for:

• Strategic and operational planning, control and oversight of all laboratory and administrative functions including the design, implementation, maintenance and improvement of the quality management system, infrastructure and the long-term expansion of the Laboratory/Channels.

• Delivering the required financial and operational performance and KPIs as well as our obligations under negotiated agreements, service contracts
and accreditation standards that have been set for the business.

• Inspiring, leading and developing talent for the short and long term needs, and, nurturing the people culture to be high-per forming, customer and quality

• Exploring new business development and new markets to expand the Biomedical/Caledonia Medical Laboratory footprint and our legacy of

• Ensuring all laboratory and regulatory compliance standards are met and our reputation and resilience remain at the highest level in normal and emergency

• Paying keen attention to the Laboratory operations to ensure that the facilities, services, capabilities, consulting, patient care, provider relationships, research, control environment and processing meet high international standards.

• Engaging experts as needed to review operations to ensure technical capacity, capabilities, delivery, controls, performance and risk management are in line with business expectations and quality standards.

• Developing the leadership and technical teams to ensure a sustainable business and a high level of accountability to match core values and promises to all our stakeholders.

The role requires an MBA with over 10 years’ senior management experience of which 3 – 5 should be at the CEO level leading a high-throughput business operation/branch network. Clinical laboratory management experience is an
advantage. To be successful in this role, you will need be driven, have a break-through mind-set to grow the team and business, with a passion for quality, collaboration and agility as well as excellent communication skills.
